Nodular Fasciitis

Nodular fasciitis: It is a fast growing tumor, has short duration of growth usually 3-6 months. It is self limited and shouldn’t recur. These are comprised of spindle cells with fibroblast and myofibroblast. stromal discohesion and stromal collagen can be seen. Mitosis may be present. No hyperchromasia present. Can have giant cells. Immunohistochemically only SMA is reliably positive.
